India leads the World in Road accidents !!! Whenever we see a accident, we can find many contributing factors for the accident !!! Lets discuss about the prevention of accidents in detail !!!For a instant, assume a country like India !!! We have many of our cities connected well by road ways than rail and air ways !!! There is a death registered due to accident every SIX minutes !!!
In 2002-03, India registered 4.96 lakh accidents !!! 5.95 lakh people got injured and about 90000 people were killed !!! And the most shocking news is, our numbers have still gone up, this year !!!
I came across this case recently !!! Please guide me whose mistake it was !!!
"A bus driver entering into no entry road, by passing the traffic police who was having tea !!! There he met with the accident with a auto which is parked at no parking !!! Now who is to be blamed ?!?!?!?!?!? "
This is the true Indian scenario !!! We people lack in road manners !!! Scholars compare roads in India with a jungle because we can't predict anyone in the road !!! He may change his track anytime and it may result in accident for us !!!
Road travel is a sequence !!! It is a Butterfly Effect !!!
Butterfly effect - the sensitive dependence on initial conditions; where a small change at one place in a non linear system can result in large differences to a later state. For example, the presence or absence of a butterfly flapping its wings could lead to creation or absence of a hurricane.
I might be driving in road with excess joy !!! Happiness may tempt me to drive faster !!! You might be driving with some disturbed mind !!! Due to fight with parents or boss !!! The things we both note in our road would be extremely different than what a neutral person could notice !!!
Here, we pay truck drivers and private bus drivers by the number of trips they achieve in a day !!!
Naturally, Truck driver will increase his speed to make more trips in a day !!! When some absence minded person like you and me travel in road, we become pray to accident !!!
We all could have noticed this !!! Almost all Govt bus, has been set with some speed limit !!! Even if driver accelerate, vehicle cannot go beyond certain speed !!! But does anyone cares about private buses !?!?!?
Study says that, in recent days private transport vehicles have involved in more number of accidents than Govt buses !!!
How many of us prefer to travel by Govt buses when Private bus is also available !??!? We mostly prefer private vehicle, because of their maintenance and speed !!! They will be having more number of stoppages comparatively !!! But they cope up with their driving speed !!! They take risk on not only our life but also on life of people on road !!!
We people motivate this trend of private vehicles by preferring it over Govt bus !!! We never bother to complaint this issue unless we are damaged !!! This self centered issue has resulted in numerous accidents !!! Why can't Govt, implement this speed limiters in private buses too !?!?!?
How many schools these days spend time in educating students about road manners !!! Once there was an article in a famous magazine, "Road is the place where literate behaves illiterate !!!"
Weather you wear helmet or not, it doesn't matter !!! Because this helmet is to protect your own life !!! But follow traffic rules !!! Because this might also put others life in risk !!!
So obey traffic rules and save India !!! We loose many scholars and future leaders in accidents !!! This trend is to be minimized !!! So lets all work towards this goal and ensure no more road accidents take place in India !!!
I would be very happy, if teachers talk to students about road manners (in free time, even if it is not in syllabus) !!! Also I request parents to act as role models in their children in this regard !!! Friends, I personally request you to discuss something in this regard among your friends !!! Because responsibility is in our shoulders !!!
Finally - Probability of survival has come down due to road accidents !!!
We can't avoid travelling on roads !!! But we can start following rules and stop violating them !!! Lets take this vote today !!!
