Democracy Index is a study to find out how democratic a nation is !!! This terminology was introduced in 2006 and its calculated once in TWO years !!!
Now what does democratic index has to do with crisis of nation ?!?!?! Democratic index is a score !!! Country will be rated on a scale of 0-10, 0 being lowest and 10 being the highest !!!
Economic Intelligence Unit has drafted this calculation !!! It covers 167 major nations in the World (out of 195) !!! This calculations are made by some professionals (who are mixed with us) !!! A survey type of pattern is followed to analyze the situation !!!
They categorize the nations into FOUR major divisions !!!
8.0 - 10.0 -> Fully Democratic
6.0 - 7.9 -> Flawed Democratic
4.0 - 5.9 -> Hybrid Regimes
Below 4 -> Authoritarian Regimes
Now, the question arises in our mind is, "WHERE INDIA STANDS IN THIS RATING"???

Note : Flawed Democracy is defined as Imperfect democracy or democracy with some major loop holes / flaws !!!
