World Environment day !!!

"Green Economics" - this is the topic on card. It is essential that we have some basic knowledge about the Green Economics, because everyone of us have some role to play on this topic. In this post, we have tried to share some essential concepts on Green Economics.

Our life has become sophisticated day by day. Things which were secondary few years before have now become primary. We should accept that focus given on Environment was very low when compared to technology.

Our lifestyle has increased, but we do encounter various modern day diseases. Pure air and water has become a rare phenomenon. Yes, I do accept - development will cause some damage to environment. But the intensity of damage has crossed the desired limit, it seems.

Plants could be called as living Gods on earth. We all know that plant gives us Oxygen, which is primary need for us to survive. Also it feeds us with its food. We all know that plant prepare their food on its own and that process is named as photosynthesis.

The amazing fact is the quantity of food a plant produces. It produces far more than the amount required for it to survive. For example, we cut many leaves and sometimes branches of the plant. This doesn't make the plant dead. The reason is the remaining portion of the plant is capable of supplying to the cut portion also. This is the game of nature. If plant produces only for its need, probably we might have become man eaters by now.

The World's population stands at 7 billion. It might reach to 9 billion by 2050. Around 1.3 billion people are current unemployed or under employed. Probably the unemployment rate might increase in near future.

To reduce this unemployment rate, there is a need for establishment of new factories / industries. But the factor to be focused is sustainability. Development should balance the social, economical and environmental demands.

Unemployment is a serious concern. Accepted. But depleting all the resources available for today's generation would impose a huge threat on our future generation.

We could contribute to green economy in the following ways,

1. Usage of renewable energy or energy efficient products
2. Implementing concept of Green buildings which could conserve energy
3. Clean transportation by proper maintenance of vehicle, hybrid vehicle, alternative fuel and vehicle sharing
4. Water Management by treatment and reuse of waste water
5. Waste Management by recylcing and reusing
6. Land Management by plantation, avoiding soil erosion

Lets practise ourselves to contribute to betterment of our environment.
