Service Or Business !!!

This post is all about medical field !!! There is an unanswered question that medical field is a business or service !!! But generally its said to be a service sector !!! This post is all about medical field !!!

India is a country where we strive to achieve 1 : 1000 ratio !!!

One doctor for 1000 people !!! Doctor's are treated as God !!! Even more than God !!!

The limitation in number of doctor is due to consciousness of Government !!! Government is keen when sanctioning a private medical university !!! In India, private medical universities are very less in number !!!

But, the shocking news is that - many private universities which are approved for medical courses, do it as business !!! Fee in private and Govt institutes are not even comparable !!! Our Govt spends lot of money on students of Government medical college !!! Since Government expects these upcoming doctors to serve for people !!!

And when offered more, doctors from Govt hospital always prefer to go with money !!!

What I want in medical field is standardization !!! Person in Jammu and person in Kanyakumari both should be treated for same medical charge !!! But is that happening ?!!?!?

The medical fee is different even within the hospital !!! If you are an IT guy, you will be charged more !!! If you are an middle class family member - you are charged different !!!

Even shopping malls (which do business) have uniform rate for all its customers - but hospitals doesn't have !!!

Its a real shame on our part !!! Medical field is facing many ups and downs !!! There is difference in quality of treatment !!! There is difference in hygiene condition !!! There is no comparison in money aspects !!!

A hospital offers an operation for ONE lak whereas other hospital does the same for FIFTY thousand !!! What is happening ?!!?!? Which one is true ?!?!!?

We have many diagnostic centers which operate with different technology !!! There is no standard technology till date !!!

Many hospital owners are business man !!! These people made hospitals are hub for earning !!!

Next prime fact is medical insurance !!! Only IT people and very less population (say 6%) have medical insurance !!! And corporate hospitals target those people !!!

The reason is billing !!! They charge more than 1.5 times of actual amount !!! They also justify that - anyhow your insurance company is to pay the bill, What problem for you  ?!?!!?

But my question is - why should someone earn from my insurance ?!?!?!?

WHO says that if more than 5 - 7 % of a women in a country undergo Cesarean Operation, its an alarming sign for women health !!!

But in Metro cities of India, Cesarean rate is more than 60% !!!

There are lot of things like commission between laboratory and doctors !!! Pharma companies and doctors said to have relation !!!

I don't think its appropriate to discuss all these issues here in single post !!!

But my request is - Please treat patients as human !!! Follow basic etiquette !!! Please don't make your profession as business !!!
